Our Story

Tiger & Hare by Amanda Chia was born from her love for art and design and the desire to create something that is both quirky and fun yet useful and appealing.

It was a dream that began at university and finally became a reality after almost a decade, when experiments with screen printing set a direction for her creative style. Today, it is a label specialising in fun, whimsical designs featuring original illustrations and patterns that play on colour and texture, aiming to bring a little playfulness into your world.

Working out of a studio in Melbourne, Tiger & Hare lovingly crafts limited edition, hand printed and digitally printed surface designs on homeware, fashion accessories and baby clothing. All designs are printed using toxic-free water-based inks. The designs emerge from Amanda’s sketches, paper cuts and explorations in various media. She draws inspiration from everything around her – travel, nature, art, photography, and animals, especially her cat. Her use of vibrant colours, and plant and animal motifs are distinctive of her style, and a recurrent theme in all her products.
